The Magic of the Mind's Eye

Hello & Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

All world one happy family.

A Joke: For his diamond wedding anniversary the hubby asks his dear wife, "What gift would you like, Dear wife?"
The wife modestly says that anything with lots of diamonds in it will be fine.
On the big anniversary day the husband presents her with a brand new pack of cards.

The Magic of the Mind's Eye

I am beginning to understand the mystery behind the ancient Hindu scriptures which talk of the world being a "Maya'" an illusion, and of the Non-Dulaity for the cosmos, meaning that there is no Mind and Matter, but all one single entity which expresses itself as mind and matter.

I explain this situation to myself thus:

The screen on which I see the picture at a cinema remains invisible to me all the tme I am seeing the movie.

But it is on that screen that all the drama of life is being enacted. The screen remains totally unaffected by the tears of sorrow or those of joy.

The Mind's eye is like that silver screen of the cinema. All the experiences that life throws at me through my senses leave that screen of my mind unaffected.

But there is more that can be explained using this analogy.

On the cinema screen images are projected from a source outside of the screen.

The ancient Hindu scriptures are saying the the mind creates the pictures that appear on the screen of this mind. Those pictures are then projected out to the world, appearing to us as being received into our mind's eye through our senses.

Like saying that in our cinema the silver screen itself is oozing out the images which we see, and this screen is aware of the pictures it is creating.

That is as difficult for us to accept as was the idea that the earth goes around the sun was to people four hundred years ago.

But, all self development gurus I have come across recently apply this very theory to help us reach our full potential.
In essence they say, "relax and visualise the future you want to create and you will succeed."

To visualise means, to create picture in your mind's eye, the mind's screen, and that picture will be projected to the world outside to appear through your senses as dreams fulfilled.

I have one web site which sums up this kind of teachings.
