I am the Emperor of my mind

The thoughts expressed there are short, and more frequent. Enjoy them as well.

A tale of being slighted to be considered a fool.

The old man was walking the dark alleys of a city when he was confronted by a gang of hooligans who wanted to rob him of his possessions.

The man put up a brave fight, suffering swollen eyes, and cut lips. Even so one of the gangster youth managed to fish out the man's wallet from an inner pocket.

On finding no more than a miserly pound in the wallet, the youth kicked the old man into the ground, pocketed the coin, tossed the now useless wallet back onto the fallen man'd body, and the gang started sauntering off muttering, "Silly old fool! To have taken all this beating for one pound?"

Old as he was, the man was not going to tolerate being labelled a fool.

In desperation to declare his intelligence, he shouted back to the disappearing gang, "You would fight too, if you had a thousand pound tucked up in the inner vest pocket."

I AM THE EMPEROR OF MY OWN MIND.

I, and only I decide what thought I allow to occupy my mind. I alone decide how I react to events that happen to me.

I f you insult me, it is only because I feel insulted, not otherwise.

If you hit me, it is up to me to decide how I want to react to that. You will not provoke me to anger. I bring about the anger in me myself.

All this is so obviously easy to see as being true, as written above. Yet, how often is misery and fights caused by "He made me do it." "He started it." He insulted me." "I was poor - I had no choice, I had to steal."

My world will be better if I can live by the knowledge that I am the Emperor of my mind.

Please remember that you can now read my thoughts at http://twitter.com/macrofacts

The advantage of going to The twitter site is that it only a few sentences long, 140 words maximum, so you can read it and get it over with and move on to your other tasks.

And it is more frequent than these notes.

See you here, and at http://twitter.com/macrofacts.

Wishing you all the best. Shree-1
