Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.
A Joke; The new secretary was seen measuring up her computer screen. She wanted curtains for her windows.
FEELING JOYFUL, LUCKY, MAKES JOY, GOOD LUCK.
An ancient tale tells of a merchant arriving at a village, wanting to trade in that village asks the headman for a sort of credit report for the village.
"How good are the villagers." he wants to know. "Are they thieving unscrupulous lot, or gentle honest to good folks?"
The Head of the village asks the trader how good were the people at his last village.
"They were terrible," replies the trader. "They were always suspicious of my goods, and never paid me on time."
"In that case," the Headman informs the trader, "You will find people here much the same, and I suggest you do not set up shop here."
I read this story when I was a child just learning to read.
But only now, in my retirement years can I understand the wisdom of that story.
I will create my world which mirrors my beliefs and feelings.
My beliefs, from religious tales of virtue in surviving in spite of hard life and ill luck has given me just that sort of opportunities to show my mantle through a series of difficult times.
I wish I had been taught how to be joyful, happy in all conditions. I think I would then have met situations that would have given me joy and happiness.
I can look back at several of my contemporaries who have led highly successful lives, in terms of wealth and social acclaim, and, I imagined, be very happy and joyful for that reason.
Could it be, I wonder now, that these people always had a happy face, and that outlook of life meant that they ended up with the success I saw them achieve?
It, indeed, can be true that feelings of joy, and being lucky creates for us situations that are joyful and lucky.
Feelings are a collection of thoughts, and these are of my own making.
It follows that by creating my feelings of joy, and health and abundance I will live in a world of joy, and health and abundance.
Wishing you create your joy, and good luck, Shree-1

Mysteries of Life are no mysteries.
Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.
A joke: Shopkeeper to would-be purchaser, "This is am amazing gadget. It cuts down your work time in half."
Purchaser-to-be is sold, "Let me have two of them!"
MYSTERIES OF LIFE ARE NO MYSTERIES.
The eternal mysteries of life, what is the purpose of life, why are we here, what happens to us when we die, are really not any mysteries at all.
Man has been on earth for thousands and thousands of years.
In all that time these mysteries have been solved, and the answers clearly laid out.
They are found in the philosophies of the world religions, in the experiences of modern day mediums and psychologists.
These philosophies tell of the true nature of our life, as being a an energy field.
It tells that we each have an individual purpose for our lives, to grow in knowledge and experiences.
What happens when we die is clearly written in scriptures like the 'Garud Puran' of Hinduism, and its off shoots, the Tibetan book of the Dead.
These clearly tell that we have lived many many lives on this earth, each time choosing to evolve our souls to better awareness of the nature of the soul.
A visit to my local library found me a shelfful of books written by mediums and medical psychologists on past life regressions and messages from beyond the grave.
The only reason why these have been classified as mysteries is because science, the magic that has given us our modern life of electricity and computers and aeroplanes, and internal combustion engine, has not been able find an instrument to measure and prove these answers.
If you say that science itself may be limited in its instruments it uses, than we can accept the answers to the mysteries as being true.
How is that knowledge going to make it a better world?
By knowing that I can relax, that I can be one with nature, that I can influence the ultimate destiny of my world, and that I am eternal.
Wishing you can create your joy, and abundance, easily enough, Shree-1

Think Peace, Harmony, Love, Compassion
Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.
A tale of rapidly spreading infection.
Patient to Doctor, "Dr, this leg of mine, is causing me great pain."
D. "I shall have to amputate that leg."
P. "You have already amputated that leg!"
D. "Do you mean that it is the wooden leg that is causing you the problem?":
P. "Yes, Doctor."
D. "Do you know what that means..."
P. "Oh No! Not woodworm, is it?"
D. "I am afraid so, We will have to amputate that leg before the woodworm spreads all over.
Come this way."
As the patient presses on the chair handle to help him get up, the chair collapses.
D. 'See, the woodworm has already spread up to the chair."
THINK PEACE, HARMONY, LOVE, COMPASSION.
It is true! I CAN make my world a better place by sending thoughts and FEELINGS of Peace, Harmony, Love and Compassion to the people in my life.
All I need do is relax, be on my own, and not let me be distracted by music, or events around me. Then picture a person i want to improve my relations with, and send that person feelings of love, peace, compassion, harmony, for a few minutes.
Do the same for other people in my life.
I have made a habit of doing this every day .
Wishing you all the best, Shree-1

Do Not Give UP Hope
Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.
A tale of Love and Grief. A young wife, on her first day of marriage lovingly gave her husband for breakfast oat porridge, which she really loves.
The husband hates oat porridge, but does not want to risk upsetting his new lovely wife. So he dutifully finishes his bowl of porridge.
The scene is repeated the next morning, and the morning after, the wife happily saying, 'Dear, I have prepared for you some lovely porridge that you so like."
This husband was not cruel enough to kill off her wife's joy.
Twenty three years into marriage, and three kids later, the family, it would seem to you and me, still enjoys oat porridge for breakfast.
Do Not Give Up Hope.
I do now truthfully believe that we create our own reality.
But since March this year I have been trying to alter my reality using methods shown to me by those who know of these things.
To date, as I see it, not much has altered in my reality towards the situations I want. Admittedly, there has been many good things happening to me, but in situations that would test the theory for my life, no great changes have taken place.
Other world events like the floods in Pakistan, or the land slides in China, make me wonder, "Did all these people, millions of them, create their own agonies and disaster, all at the same time?"
One suggestion is that such global events mirror our individual fears and doubts. Such disasters, though, bring a message of love, peace, and harmony. These feelings, lying dormant within us, are brought out to the fore, as we give
our money and time to help others out. Those in the very mist of the disaster forget about their own self needs, as they reach out into danger to rescue others.
In that sense such events are a stimulus for our personal growth and helps to heal the planet of animosity and mistrust amongst people.
That is a nice way of looking at an event that is obviously a great disaster.
The message I am giving to myself is that the theory I now believe in is essentially right. There is much that needs understanding about that theory. But, accepting the essential truth, "i create my experiences" I do not give up hope that the reality I personally want will become so.
Wishing you joy and abundance, Shree-1

Write with your non-dominant hand
Hello, and welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.
A joke: An old man walking in a park came across a little boy playing with his dog.
'That is a lovely dog you have,' the old man said to the boy. 'What is his name?' he asked, in a friendly sort of way.
The little boy thought for a moment or two, and replied, 'I do not know his name. I call him Rover.'
WRITE WITH YOUR NON-DOMINANT HAND.
One simple way to improve your self is to write a journal of your daily events with the hand that you do not not normally write with, your non-dominant hand.
You could also draw and paint using this hand of yours that you do not use when signing your name.
Doing so certainly slows down your thinking, allowing you to relax, and carefully formulate your thoughts and feelings.
It also 'exercises' the non-doniant half of your brain, allowing your creativity to flow through more easily than otherwise.
I owe this trick to the author Dr. Lucia Capacchione.
She introduces herself in her books as a psychologist, and an art therapist.
She heals her patients by this method, saying that using the non-dominant hand frees the child in us, who loves to play and to discover new things. It is that child in us, buried under our adult dominance, that has become sullen. That anger of the child is reflected sometimes in our ill health or bad habits.
By freeing the child to express his joy again, the adult is healed, according to Fr. Capaccione.
This is so simple a method to try out, with no risk of any loss, and, in any case, being an enjoyable task of writing a daily diary, that it certainly is worth a try.
I had been thinking of blogging thus for many months. Soon after starting a diary with my left hand writing (I write with my right hand) I began this blogging, from October 09.
Was there a connection between the two events?
No body will ever be able to prove if there was, or was not, a connection.
Wishing you can create for yourself a life of love, joy, and abundance. Shree-1

Love, Respect for Strangers
Hello. Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.
It is a pleasure to welcome you to this blog.
If you have just stumbled into this site, please know that this blog is my own personal ideas, as I develop them, about how I may make this a better world for everyone.
I have got together many ideas, going way back to November 09. Please browse through the subject headings on the side, opening the relevant months first, to get to the blog material.
You will also pick up some humour scattered amongst the blogs. Hope you like the jokes.
A joke for now: A Church Father was feeling quite pleased with himself. After pestering a town's Banker for many months, he had finally persuaded him to donate to the Church funds.
The Father was gleefully doting over the cheque in his hands from the Banker. It was for a huge amount, in fact the largest single donation he had for the Church Fund in all its 30 year's history, a cheque for £90,000!
But, wait a minute. What was this?
The Father blinked, and stared at the cheque. The signature part of the cheque was blank.
The Banker's signature was missing!
At first the Father was lost as to what to do. But as he became convinced that what he was about to do was the correct thing to do, he bravely telephoned the Banker.
He profusely thanked the Banker for his generous donation, but had to point out the Banker's mistake.
"That was no mistake'" the Banker said, "Who am I to seek fame for Charity work? I want my donation to remain anonymous."
Love, respect for strangers,
I remarked in my last blog as to how people, even wealthy educated people who should know better, give away their
barbaric mentality when they treat others of lower wealth than them with disdain.
I gave one example of how Colombo is shouted down when he trespasses a private land in the 'Colombo' television stories.
In the situation I am thinking of the Man (Of course, later to be arrested for murder by Colombo) shouts at Colombo. "Hey, you there! Get out. You are on private property."
In the world I want, where we would show Love and Respect even to strangers, this Man would have walked up to Colombo and said, "Excuse me Sir, Can I help you? You seem lost. You should not really be here, because this is my private property."
In truth, in the sort of world we are aiming for, if it was so, this Man would not have murdered any one. Colombo would not have been where he was, to be rudely accosted by this Man.
And if no one was being rude to strangers, there would be no need to tell anyone not to be rude to strangers.
Wishing you every joy and abundance, Shree-1

Courtesy, and Kindness to all
Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.
Aid workers are shot dead.
What motivates a person to do such deeds?
Regrettably, this is not the first time I have heard of this sort of atrocities happening.
How is it that some one can harbour a lot of hatred for another, often a total stranger?
Here I am in a quiet corner of the world, reading books that say that if I were to think of loving thoughts - thoughts that show care, and consideration and courtesy and kindness to others, all world will become a better place.
Unfortunately, even well-to-do educated people, whom you would think of as being truly cultured, of having humane manners, often show their brutal nature as soon as a situation develops that irritates them.
I am thinking of all the incidents in 'Colombo' detective stories, where really wealthy people, writers, business leaders, army majors, on seeing Colombo at first trespassing their property shout down at him, and order him about as if he was the scum of the earth.
Television soap operas, from "Dallas' to India television "serials" all show people's haughty behaviour with other people.
I have seen in my visits to India, car drivers, wealthy learned professors, no less, snarl obscenities to scooter riders and cyclists not giving them way.
The mark of culture is that one treats even one's servants with dignity and respect, showing kindness and courtesy even when receiving a service from that servant.
Allowing yourself such learning and culture will make your, and others' a better world.
Wishing you all the best, Shree-1

How to brainwash others with ideas of love and peace?
Hello. Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All World One Happy Family.
A story of lost anger: A man went to his doctor, 'I get angry very easily.' he said, 'And in my anger I do all sorts of horrible things I feel sorry for afterwards.'
The doctor said, 'It is a strange thing you have, this anger. Please show it to me.'
The man says, 'I cannot show it to you because I am not angry now.'
The Doctor says, 'Then this anger is not a part of you, like your blood, flash or bone. You were not born with it. Your parents did not give it to you.
You have lost your anger now. Allow yourself to loose that anger every time it comes to you.'
HOW TO BRAINWASH OTHERS WITH IDEAS OF LOVE AND PEACE?
A current issues of the 'National Geographic' magazine has on its front page a picture of an Afghan woman, with the top of her nose sliced off.
The picture hurt me.
In my own Gujarati language there is a phrase "to cut off someone nose" to mean imposing loss of dignity on to someone, to bring shame and loss of face to some one.
I could never imagine someone actually doing so. So I assumed the phrase to be a way of saying that some one deserves to be shamed.
But seeing this picture means that even in the formative days of the language, centuries ago, such an act was being done to punish and bring shame onto some one.
How barbaric!
And to think that such cruel acts are being done even today, in the time of 42" colour televisions, and 3g phones, and jumbo jets taking to the air!
What would have been the anger, the rage, the madness, in the mind or minds of the person or persons who chopped off this woman's nose?
Which of their Gods or Prophets told them to inflict such harm onto others?
If that was so, what would have led this person or persons to believe that the sayings of this God/s had to be abided by, to be followed?
Did they not have their own powers of reasoning?
What culture allowed led them to such barbaric behaviour?
How does one brainwash someone with such hatred in their minds to have peace and love
towards even others who would have, in their minds, hurt them?
If I had my way, I would give all children in the world a fat book of a thousand pages, each page have written hundred times the line, "I would love everybody, cause no harm or hurt to anybody."
Every time anyone switched on their television, or the computer, a message would flash on the screen,
"My duty is to love every body, not to hurt or harm anybody."
A world where no one fights and injures another, is friends with everybody, loves even strangers looking different to them,
there would be no need for armies, and navies and air forces. There will no weapons of mass destruction. There will be no stealth spy aircrafts, and nuclear submarines.
There will be no soldiers trained to maim and kill.
There will be just nice people to live happily along with.
How Can I make my world like that?
I will write to my M.P. saying my governement should save money on weapons and use the money on my 1000 page books to give to school children.
I wish you every happiness. Shree-1

A better World by showing Love, Respect, Tolerance.
Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All World One Happy Family.
A lesson in how to make life easy. Some people make life un-ncessarily difficult and irksome. Like when they develop a hobby of collecting rare antiques, or books or paintings.
My Uncle's hobby never gives him any problems getting his collections.
He collects parking tickets.
A BETTER WORLD BY SHOWING LOVE, RESPECT, TOLERANCE:
The world we experience is a reflection of our own thoughts and feelings.
So when we harbour hatred, despise or contempt for some one or some situations, we get faced with such people or such situations.
It is up to us to give a feeling to an experience we get.
If we give a feeling of being OK with any situation, we will encounter situations that please us.
This applies even when some one wrongs us. We should still see the good in that event that has happened to us, develop a sense of love, respect and tolerance to that person who has harmed us.
To want to hurt and punish the wrong doer, however justified we may feel in wanting to do so, is going against the hidden but continuously operating laws of nature.
To go on the offensive onto another to seemingly prevent that other harming us is also to over step our rules of living in harmony with nature.
Living a life showing love, respect and tolerance to others and events will make it a better world for us and for everyone else.
I wish the leaders of our nations get to read these thoughts of mine, based on centuries of Truth.
Wishing you every success, Shree-1
All World One Happy Family.
A lesson in how to make life easy. Some people make life un-ncessarily difficult and irksome. Like when they develop a hobby of collecting rare antiques, or books or paintings.
My Uncle's hobby never gives him any problems getting his collections.
He collects parking tickets.
A BETTER WORLD BY SHOWING LOVE, RESPECT, TOLERANCE:
The world we experience is a reflection of our own thoughts and feelings.
