Money or the Word - Which is greater?

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

A  joke:   Wife phones her husband at work,  "Dear I am dying.."

The husband cannot believe his good luck, feels elated, but immediately puts on the mask of normality, "Oh dear!" he sigs on the phone, "How am I going to live without you?"

The wife has found her opportunity to again wrong her husband, "You fool!" she hollers back, "I only said I was dying my hair."

Money or the Word - which is greater?

I wish I had 20 million sterling pounds to give away to the needy sick poor of the world, so that they could replace their poverty with joy, health and wealth.

I regret I do not have that sort of money.

How can I then help make the world to be a better place?

May be I could spread knowledge as to how one can set about acquiring joy, health and wealth in life.

To do so I can do no better than guide the world to

My Mind is a television receiver

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

        Find time to visit http://www.macrofacts.org

It may help you bloom in life to your full potential.

Some ideas are very difficult for me to understand.

When that happens I try to translate the idea into a concept I am familiar with.

That is the situation with the idea that my mind is a portal for a Universal Mind to projects its ideas.

These Universal Mind ideas include all galaxies, stars, planets, life, and my own body, too.

Sense organs of my body pick up the projected images, and relay them back to my mind as my life experiences.

In this round about way the Universal Mind can get to know what is as an undifferentiated mass of ideas in its own storehouse of images.

How can I make sense of all this fib?

What if my mind was a sort of television set?

Images stored in the Universal Mind were, say, the programmes in the various broadcasting stations.

When I turn on the television set is when I am born into this life.

When I click onto, in older days, tune into, a particular channel, and its programme, what I see on the tv screen is then drawn in from one of many programmes flowing in the air all around my tv aerial.

This analogy can be stretched further.

It is my choice what channel, what programme I choose to be shown on my television.

Likewise, I choose, so the mystics say, which human body form, which parents I will have, when I am born.

The programme I see on the tv is what is being transmitted from the broadcasting station.

So the mountains, trees and length of my fingers is as in the original programme held in the Universal Mind which I have chosen to be transmitted through my mind.

But I do have some control over the picture on my tv screen.

I can adjust the colour, contrast, sound volume etc. on my tv picture.

In that sense I can control some of the images being transmitted by the Universal Mind through my mind.

I suppose that is the reasoning behind the age old wisdom, "As you think, so you are."

As my mind can also think, I should, in theory, be able to influence the world I experience.
With translating the original idea in terms of my television receiver I am beginning to make sense of the concept of the world all being a Thought.

I can now even understand a situation where my television set, that is, my mind, has the added ability to pick and choose from the countless programmes in the many broadcasting stations around the tv aerial and present a picture on the tv screen which is precisely to my own design, made up of bits and pieces chosen from the millions of programmes available.

If this was, indeed as life is, then the saying that we each create our own reality with our thoughts and feelings must be true.

Our thoughts and feelings are the hooks that allow us to fish up images we want from the amorphous mass of pictures in the Universal Mind.

I am dreaming some one else's dream!

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

A Joke:      The economics professor was teaching his new batch of students the fundamentals of commerce.

"On giving money for a thing purchased, the thing goes from the seller to the buyer." he explained.

"Except wine, Sir" quipped a know-it-all youth, "It goes to the cellar."

Another smart-alex joined in, "And coal, too, Sir. It goes to the cellar as well."

I am dreaming some one else's dream!

It is easy to use words.

Our waking state is also our dream, as the dream of sleep.

But do the words make any sense?

Obviously these words do not make any sense at all.

I cannot, try hard as I might, not even dream into existence a grain of sand, a drop of water, or even the shine on a new penny.

How then can I say that I dream into existence the mountains I see  the oceans of the world, or have any hope of amassing the wealth I covet for.

The only way I can reconcile these opposing facts is if the dream that makes me see the mountains around me is not my own dream.

What if the whole cosmos was a Mind whose dream I was dreaming?

Then the puzzle could be solved.

The mountains, oceans, the galaxies, the stars, all life on this planet is the dream of this Cosmic Mind, being dreamt through my mind.

You, too could be dreaming this Cosmic Mind's dream.

So you see the same trees and flowers that I see.

It is as if I am seeing a picture on my cinema screen, and you are seeing a picture on your screen.

But since the film, and the projector is the same for both of us, we agree on what we see.

Things cannot be as simple as that though.

Things are compounded by our own mind, through which the Universal Mind dreams, to affect, to edit, the dream being dreamt.

Thus, for example, there may be a rope on my path, but I see it as a snake.

Then I have edited he dream being projected through my mind.

If I have that ability to affect the Cosmic Dream, may be I can affect that to my advantage.

Then if I  dream, with my little mind, of health, wealth, happiness, may be I can draw those images from the Cosmic Mind into my own real life dream.

That being the truth may be the power behind the "Law of Attraction" of the New Age thinking.

In any case, I am now happy to accept that my wakeful world is the same as the dream of my sleep, albeit that dream is some one else's dream.

Now that I know I have the ability to influence the dream of the Universal Mind,  I am hopeful that I can think into existence the life I want for my own self.

Visit    http://www.macrofacts.org     to get some suggestions as to how you can draw from the Universal Mind ideas, the life you would want to live.

Maya - the real illusion

Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

A joke:   Patient to doctor,  "I have this terrible feeling of being run down."

Doctor:  "You should always look both on the left and on the right before crossing the road."

Another one:   In these times of terrible my wife and I decided to earn some extra money.

We bought 50 halogen gas filled balloons at 10 pence each.

With great and effort, and with a hoarse voice by the end of the day we managed to sell off all the 5o balloons at 10p each to children  at the city's zoo.

At the end of the day, when we counted our takings, we found we were no better off than when we started off.

My wife, with her customary habit of blaming everything on my foolishness, was quick to
show me her wisdom, "I told you we should have bought more of those balloons."

Maya - the real illusion:

'Maya' the ancient Indian concept is often being translated to mean that the world is an illusion.

Because the world, and indeed, our own bodily existence, is as phantom as the mirage of an oasis in a desert, it is said, we must not pamper our bodies, or hanker for worldly goods which ease the discomforts of our lives.

Austerities, pain, suffering, should be our lot, if we are to free ourselves from the bondage of 'maya' and realise one ness with God, the Creator.

So the holy men of India disdain worldly pleasures, responsibilities and take themselves away from society into mountain caves and forests.

It may be that these 'wise' people have got the wrong end of the stick.

The world is a 'maya." True.

But even so, it is real. The table is just as heavy to lift, the knife just as sharp to cut a finger, and the chocolate bar just as delicious being a 'maya' as if these things were real.

Being a 'maya' does not take anything away from their physical properties we experience.

The real "maya' illusion, is to think that these things exist apart from our own selves.

The 'maya' is in the illusion that the world of objects and pleasures is external to us.

The reality is that the 'maya' world is inside of us.

My hands, face, and the table before me, are all a projection of my own mind into space, and my senses report these projections to my mind as being outside of me.

It is as if my world is my own dream.

Indeed, when asleep, I do dream.

In my sleep the images I see and feel are all a projection of my own mind. The dream images appear in our dream as being outside of us, but we accept, when awake, that these images had no existence separate from our own dreaming mind.

It is exactly so even when I am awake.

Not to realise that even wakeful drama of our lives is a dream, is the real 'maya.'

The reality is that we are meant to enjoy our 'dreams.'

Life is meant to be a search for fun, joy, comfort and luxuries.

We are to dream our wildest dreams and make them come true.

Some suggestions as to how one can make our dreams come true are at the one web page at

Where did we go wrong?

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

A joke:    I was sunning myself on a park bench one spring evening.

A cute little white poodle came running up to play with trousers.

Behind it ran up its master, a little girl with freckles and pony tails.

Picking up the poodle in her arms,  she apologised for her poodle bothering me.

"Not a bother at all," I said comforting her. You have a sweet  little poodle. What's his name?'

The girl frowned, searching for an answer.

Then, giving up, because she wanted to get on, and not worry me any more, said quickly,

"I do not know his name. I call him Sammy."

Where Did We Go wrong?

I have read a passage in a book translating a famous religious ious book of Asia to the effect that the world is transitory. Worldly enjoyments are laced with pain. We should, therefore, shunt them away.
We should curtail all bodily desires, renounce life's responsibilities, and hide away in seclusion to meditate. That is the only way to realise one's self, and get to know of God, find our 'nirvana.'

This seemed so irrational a message from a holy scriptures that I almost thaught this translation was a sort of student prank, a spoof, of a holy message.

Then I realised that the message was not something lost in the translation.

This indeed is an interpretation of God's message accepted by millions.

People do give up wanting to strive for luxuries that wealth brings giving this guidance as an excuse to run away from life.

Others see something pious in being poor, and miserly. Even in Christianity there is a beleief that says something like "Blessed are the meek."

Meek meaning the oppressed, the poor, the troubled.

Some people even flay themselves with ropes, or suffer bodily torture thinking that doing so will make them dearer to God.

Where did we go wrong that this meaning was attached to our existence?

The truth, according to the great scriptures of India, as I have understood them to be, is that we are a part of the Universe, which is one undifferentiated Consciousness, one Awareness, one Mind.

This Mind continuously thinks. It is its inherent property to do so.

The result of the thinking of this Universal Mind is the creation of galaxies, stars, planets, and us.

Our mind is an atom of the same Universal Consciousness.

Its inherent property is to keep on expanding, creating endlessly.

So when man creates things, or wants to create things, he is only flowing with the Universe, with God.

I would say that God has given us a tongue so that we can enjoy the delicate tastes of our food. He could easily have devised a man where food necessary for survival of the body would go straight to the stomach for digestion.

Life is meant to be enjoyed, to the full. To strive for pleasure and things that give us joy is not to rebel against God's wishes. Quite the opposite. To do so is helping God continue the Creation of the Universe that He has begun.

There are overtones to this message, of course.

For example, one may strive to create luxuries for pleasure, knowing that to do so its God's will. So any disappointments in our ventures should not result in sorrow, but acceptance of any outcome also as God's will.

I am comforted that many modern thinkers like Deepak Chopra, Gill Edwards (Living Magically), Louis Hay (You can Hal your life) Pamela Oslie, etc. support my view as God  being a Consciousness which wants to create through our minds.

Life is meant to explore, to expand, to create, to enjoy.

The coin of life has 'Joy' stamped on each of its sides.

Wishing you joy and abundance,       Shree-1

Elixir of Life

Hello! Welcome to How Can I Make It A Better World?"

A joke:  At end of a tiring, frustrating day, I had no energy left to struggle with cooking at home.

So I took myself to a Chinese Take-away shop which proclaimed in its window, and on the service counter, "Service with a smile."

In line with the day, my wait to be served also turned out to be frustratingly long.

I could see several attendants busying themselves with in the kitchen, but no one came out to serve me.

Finally I blurted out, "That is a nice service with a smile you are giving me."

One of the attendants came out, "We can't serve you, Sir, until you have smiled, and you have only shown us your glum face."

Elixir of Life.

I have found my elixir of life.

I know how I will be able to enjoy radiant health.

                To  enjoy a life of fun and joy, free of worries and disease I need to incorporate the following in my life;

 1. Accept "mentalism" as the nature of my reality.

Nature of reality is a topic that can be discussed ad infinitum.

By 'mentalism," in essence, I mean that the world I experience, my world to include my body, is a projection of a Cosmic Mind through an atom of that same Mind which is my own true self.

My senses detect this projections and report back to my mind as a world existing outside of the mind.

The world is, in effect, a 'maya' a phantom, like the dream I dream at night.

By my prevailing thoughts, with my visions of the body and future I want, I can affect what the Universe projects through my mind.

That is the "mentalism" I need to accept as being the ultimate truth.

 2. For at least two sessions a day,  each session to be about five minutes, I need to completely relax each muscle of my body.

I need to be at peace with my surroundings and with my own self.

During this period of relaxation I need to attend to my breathing.

This breathing to be deep and full, but natural, and slow. I will not hold my breath in my body, or delay my inbreathing after exhalation.

3. Every day I will drink copious amount of ordinary water. A guide to the amount of water I need to drink is given by my weight in pounds divided by two. This is amount of water in fluid ounces I need to drink daily. One ounce, I remember is, for this purpose, 30mls.

So for me, I will drink about two litres a day.

This will be as two or three glassfuls on rising, a glassful before and after food, and a glassful several times during the day, and before sleep at night.

Regret for this need, cups of tea, orange drink, cola drinks, wines etc. will not count towards my water intake.

I need not reduce my normal salt intake whilst i am drinking copious amounts of water.

3.  I will daily ensure that I do some aerobic exercises. Some movements every day that will get the blood circulating freely in my body.

4. I will do something creative everyday. Anything that requires me to create something where nothing existed before. This may be playing a musical instrument, singing, drawing, writing, art work, or even my work that earn me money.

      That is essentially it.

      My elixir of life.

Obviously a lot more is needed to make life fun and joy and free of disease.

But my feeling is that provided I incorporate these practices into my life, other requirements for a healthy happy life, like a balanced diet, happy relations, money, etc. will be as a sort of side effect of following these practices. As such they will be easier to obtain than otherwise.

Finally, it goes without saying that these are my opinion as an ordinary common man.

You need to seek advice from your health professional in all matters regarding your health and wellness.

A New Me Every Instant

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

Do not forget to visit
http://www.macrofacts.org
to know what MacroFacts are,and how you may use the MacroFacts to bring joy to your life. Invaluable Facts. Free

The wick of a lighted candle draws wax from the candle-wax, and burns it to give a flame of a definite shape.

The flame shape may look the same, but each instant it is being renewed afresh.

It is so also with a water fountain.

A fountain, too, may have a definite shape, but it is being renewed each instant by the gush of fresh water arising from the bottom of the fountain.

The shape of the flame, or of the water fountain, whilst it may look to be of a particular form, in reality its shape is being constantly renewed.

Now for the exciting part of this story.

I, and for that matter, the same applying for you as well, are being constantly renewed.

For us, the candle wax is the Cosmic Intelligence, the source and root of all our existence.

The wick is our mind, embedded in the Cosmic Intelligence.

As the wick draws wax from the body of the candle, so does our mind draw data from the Cosmic Intelligence.

The data is "burnt," transferred, to form the shape of our bodies, and also of our world.

This forming of the shape and form of our bodies and the world we experience is being done by our mind every instant.

Knowing this, that we are creating our bodies afresh every instant, in theory, should empower us to create the form, health, of our bodies and the form of the world we encounter, to our own liking.

We have access to power to make the world a better place.

This I understand to be the messages of ancient Indian Vedic teachings.

Wishing you joy and abundance,    Shree-1

I am a Cinema Projector Lens

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

A cinema projector has a film in it, and a lens.
Light is shown through the film in the projector, and the lens focuses the image in the film on a screen.
Imagine now a cinema projector that has not one, but multiple lenses. To help us imagine the concept, imagine the projector has seven lenses.
Each lens has its own screen. The lens focuses the image in the projector film onto its own screen.

I imagine that I am one of those lenses.
I am seeing the film that is on my screen.
Likewise, you too, are a lens on this projector.
You are seeing the image on your own screen.
We both see the same image, or, as this is a cinema projector, the same film.
We see the same trees, the same flowers, and buildings.
We two can even remark on how beautiful the flowers look, and agree on the colours of the leaves on the trees.
But in reality we would be describing the scenes that is very individual to each one of us.
Our scenes match up because we are seeing scenes projected from the same film in the cinema projector.

That is the nature of our reality!

The I that is the lens in the story above is the me, my mind, my soul.

The film is data in the void of the Cosmos.

Consciousness that is the void of the Cosmos is the light, which throws the data in the void onto a screen.

Each individual person is a lens in this cosmic projector.

We see the same trees, and flowers, but each one of us is seeing a scene that is an image projected by each individual mind.

Apart from this projected image, there is no world that is outside the film in the projector.

There is no world that exists outside of me.

There is no world that exists outside of you.

My Mind, and your mind, has the ability to alter, the film image that is being focuses through our mind. We can add to, or omit, some of the scenes that are being focused through our minds.

So, I may not hear a lecturer's words though the sound falls on my ears, (omit scenes from
the film) or see eyes and fangs in a twisted rope (add to the scene on the film) and fear an attack from a snake.

In short, each of us create our own reality using the infinite amount of data in the Cosmic Void
available to each one of us.

Wishing you joy and abundance,    Shree-1.

Warm Heartfelt Glow

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World"

A simple joke:     One girl to another, "Why does the traffic light go red?"

The another,   "So would you if you had to change in front of all those people."

Another joke:   "What is a polygon?"

'Poly's  bird cage with the door left open."

Warm Heartfelt Glow

Imagine a candle flame sitting in your heart.

It burns with a rock steady brilliant white flame.

The candle has a warm glow.

The warmth is a gentle heat, as well as love.

                  Pure simple love.

Experience what love means, by thinking of your love for your car, your  pen, your favourite dish, your pet, your baby, your soulmate.

The flame glows with a warm pure love.

Love for all things around you.

Love for all life around you.

Love for the silly ugly fool that is your own true self.

Love for all circumstances around you.

Let the love from this candle sitting in your heart radiate out to fill the room you are in, the house, the town, the country, the world you are in.

You will be helping to make the world a better place.

Wishing you joy and abundance,     Shree-1.
