Love all Life, Things, Events

Hello, welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

   Christmas day today.

The world is on the verge of leaping into a new year.

My wishes for the world in the the new year are:

    1. Children are taught to control their anger.

    2.  I learn to change anger towards another life or thing to love.

     3. I learn to have compassion for all life, things, and events.

So, e.g. love the grass and the weeds in the garden,

love the fox that messes up my garden as much as I love my baby,

love the computer on my desk, for its sleek design and its capabilities,

love a fall I just had that broke my leg. (No judgement about the fall, accepted it)

     4. We accept that life is meant to be joy and fun, to do whatever we desire, PROVIDED our desires do not hurt any other life.

Wishing you joy and abundance,   Shree-1

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

A Joke:   Bus driver, announcing to his passengers on the full bus, "If no one will give up your set for this young lady just boarded, I will give up my seat to her."

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year,

I wish a very happy Christmas festivities.

May everything you do in the New Year 2012 allows joy and abundance to flow to you.

As I understand it, the message of Christmas is love and peace to all.

Hidden in that message is the suggestion that one should convert one's anger to  love.

When every one is able to master their emotion to convert anger to love, there will truly be
God's kingdom on earth. There will be no wars, and, equally important, every one will be supremely happy.

      Wishing you supreme happiness,     Shree-1

Why?

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?

A couple of Jokes:   1.  I do not need a parachute if I want to jump only once.
I only need it if I want to jump a second time.

                                     2.  My computer beat me at chess. But it was no match with me in kick-boxing.

Why?

It is a known axiom of self-devlopment that one must know the reason why one wants a particular situation in life.

Without having a clear reason for having one's wished fulfilled, one would not be able to put in the effort needed to make them come true.

Here is my attempt o answer the question "Why?"

       First, what do I want?

       Success.

       Why do I want success?

So that when I take my last breath I do not feel all my life was wasted?

Why would that hurt me so?

Because I have seen and experienced my life's comforts because of the good deeds of others. I,too feel that f I were to add my little legacy that can improve others' lives in some way, my purpose of living would have been achieved.

Why do I think improving others' lives should be my purpose of life?

Because society has taught me so.

Why has society taught me that I should help others by my living?

So that society can function in an orderly peaceful life for all citizens.

        Why must society function so?

So that I can live happily and die peacefully.

          Why must I live happily?

So that I can be a success at helping others?

          Why so?

So that society can function in an orderly peaceful way for all citizens.

That is the message I get from my ruminations. To die in peace I must help others, and in so doing help myself.

Wishing you joy and abundance.      Shree-1

Lessons from a lighted candle

Hello!  Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

A Joke:     The taxi was stuck in the rush hour traffic.

Its passenger, getting late for an appointment was getting irate with the taxi driver.

He continually blamed the driver for missing out on opportunities where he could have cut in
to speed ahead.

"What am I paying you for?" He spat out at the driver,  "I could get there faster if I walked."

The driver, too, was getting frustrated with his irate passenger.

He saw a chance to get rid of his fare.

The taxi was stuck in the traffic, not getting any where.

So he said to his fare, "Please, Sir, do me a favour, and start walking."

The passenger, said, "It's OK, I am not in any hurry."

Lessons from a lighted Candle:

When I see a lighted candle I see similarities in my own being with the candle.

The candle wick draws on the candle wax, and burns it to make a flame of a particular shape and colour.

The shape of the flame is dependent on the length of the wick, and the flame's colour is dependent on the constituent of the wick, e.g. a wick with sodium in it will give a different colour to one with just a cotton string.

I imagine that I am the wick. The candle wax is the Cosmic Mind. The "I" that is the wick is also a part of the same Cosmic Mind, it cannot be apart, outside, the Cosmic Mind. It is embedded in the cosmic mind, as the wick is in the candle.

I draw, as the candle wick does, on the INFINITE ideas, thoughts, images that are stored in the cosmic mind.

I process them, as the candle wick burns the candle wax, and project my body and my world as the wick projects the flame.

My body, my world, my life experiences, are my creations drawn from the storehouse of the cosmic mind.

These thoughts are supported by mystics who have experienced the truth behind our existence.

They do say that we are essentially our everlasting souls. Each soul decides the place and circumstances of its birth on the earthly plane. The world each life lives is their own projection, a thought, which appears as solid reality to the body's mind.

Each soul takes its earthly form to experience events which will help it to "learn" something it want to. Having done that, it returns to its source, the Cosmic Mind.

With that analogy, I see myself as being responsible for all my life's circumstances.

How do I draw on the knowledge that is in the Cosmic Mind?

I do that with my beliefs, thoughts, and feelings.

I also imagine, when viewing this lighted candle, a big thick candle, with several wicks, each of different cloth and lengths, sticking out of the candle wax.

These different wicks, arising from the same candle wax, are like the different people on our planet.

Each one has the same common origins, drawing on the same basic data.

Each one is related as children of the same mother.

So each one sees the same mountain, but each's life is different according to the wick they have chosen to be.

Will it not be a lovely bright world if all the flames of this Cosmic candle shone together to lighten the whole Cosmos? No one burning down another, hurting another, but living happily in unison with a common aim of making the whole cosmos a brighter place for all.

Wishing you joy and abundance,   Shree-1

Holographic Universe

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

A Joke;   I wanted to give up smoking.

I gave myself an incentive to stop.

I put a £50.00 note in my cigarette packet.

I promised myself that I will only smoke after I have burn that £5000 note, and not before.

That kept me off the weed for two days.

On the third day, true to my word, I set light to the £50.00 note.

Only then did I light up my cigarette.

              Am I not good?

Our Holographic Universe:

A Physicist by the name of Bohm, and a Psychologist by the name or Pribram have come up with a theory that our Universe is one big Hologram.

Hologram is where we see a three dimensional image in space, but when we try to capture that image, we find that there is nothing there.

The image is a projection of patterns on a holographic film.

The Holographic Universe Theory suggests that all of the Universe is first a vast void, filled with latent Energy, the "implicate" state of things.

This Energy projects the latent states enfolded within the "void' to create our matter.

This matter is not different to what we call consciousness.

As with Einstein'd space-time being one unity, so is matter-consciousness, one unity.

The variance in the apparent animate and inanimate objects is in the degree to which a particular aspect of the matter-consciousness dominates in that particular region of the "void."

Essentially everything, all time, is just ONE BIG UNITY.

Our so solid world, all Universe, is just an abstract hologram like image.

The proponents of the Theory, scientists that they are, have firm logical clues that leads them to their conclusions.

I think it amazing that their ideas so match the ideas of mystics.

The world we live in is a "maya" an illusion, they say.

They also say that all matter and life originate from one Energy, they call it "Brahama' and dissolves it back into that very source. The cycle is repeated ever anon.

They also say that we are all one undivided whole.

The mystics also say that even a stone has a soul.

The implications of this Theory being true are immense.

It means that we are divine beings, permanently drawing our energy from one Source.

We have the ability to draw the energy we need from that Source, so we are co-creators with the Source in creating the life we want.

We are all connected. I cannot harm you without harming myself at the same time.

The solid world, including my body,  is just energy vibrations, and I can mould that with my own thoughts and feelings, inspired by the Source.

Absorb from all this what ever you will.

Wishing you joy and abundance,   Shree-1

Nature of Reality

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?'

I had an occasion to broach the subject of the nature of reality to an 84 year old lady.

Through her 84 years of life she has been brought up to believe in a God who grants favours or punishments, ho needs prayers, devotion time every day.

With that belief is also intertwined a belief in karma, or fate. One's deeds in another past life causes situations that make life a pleasure or a suffering.

There was no way I could get her to change her conceptions.

I tried to reason with her that

  -   there is no super person out in heavens above who judges our actions and grants us favours or problems.

  -  there is no fate or karma. Each individual soul decides before birth as a human being the experiences it want on this plane.

  - one's life style is not set in stone. With thinking, feelings and inspired actions resulting from these two, one can alter one's life to suit one's needs.

   - pain or pleasure are how one reacts to events. They are not the events themselves.

I tried to reason these things with her.

Regret my reasoning seemed to her to verge on insanity.

She was essentially sad at her circumstances. I so wanted her to be cheered up. I wanted her to adopt my style of nature of reality to make her life a pleasure, a joy, 24/7

But I felt she was comfortable with her pain, her fate, that she had to endure, and let her be so.

Is this how most elderly people stoically accept the miseries of life? That life is a drudgery to be endured with a smiling face, as a clown, until death frees one from the torture?

Wishing you joy and abundance,    Shree-1

Never give up.

Hello!  Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

Have I given up wanting to make it a better world?

It would seem so, from my fewer attempts to solve my puzzle.

I like to think that my frequent tweets at http://twitter.com/macrofacts has kept going my search for answers to my question.

Perhaps there is no way I, or any other person can the world better in any way.

Perhaps each one of us can only make our own selves better, and then the world we encounter will be a better world.

How can I make myself better?

By being at peace and harmony with myself, and with all people, events and things I come across.

In theory I should be able to remain at peace with myself, find happiness, in any circumstance of my life, because my peace and happiness is not dependent on outside circumstances.

No one or no events are responsible for how I feel. Only I decide how I want to feel.

     All very well to say.

Can one be "happy" in any circumstance?

I think the answer to that question must be a resounding "Yes."

Viktor Frankl suffered many years as a concentration camp victim. Yet he survived to tell the world, in his "Man's Search For Meaning" that one CAN adopt an attitude of contentment in most trying of circumstances. It would seem that Frankl survived the concentration camp sorely because of his "positive attitude."

Another person who reports the "joy" experienced even in a disaster is writer Brandon Bays.

In her book "Freedom Is" she writes of her feelings when she came to a scene with her house, all her possessions, had gone up in flames in a forest fire.

She writes at her wonder at the deep blue sky she could see from where she was standing, her view unobstructed because there never was her house standing there in between.

In the story of "Ben Hur" is wrongly accused by a Roman Garrison Captain to spend years in a galley as a slave rower.

His quiet acceptance of his fate means that he survives the brutality to regain his freedom with all glory.

So, my feeling now is that even if i now feel oppressed by my circumstances, I should not give up on my own integrity, my inner peace and fortitude, but keep my hope alive.

My inner peace, being enjoined with the infinite unfathomable forces that are at the root of our existence. will surely make events proceed to make my wishes come true.

I do not need to make the world any better.

If I make myself better, and if everyone else makes it that they do allow themselves to suffer by their circumstances, they will make themselves, and the world, a better place to live in.

Wishing you every joy and abundance, Shree-1

Food For Thought

Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

A few simple jokes:

Kindergarden teacher to little girl: " Why are you crying Amanda?"

Amanda:  "Jimmy broke my doll, Miss."

Teacher: "How did Jimmy break you doll, Amanda?"

Amanda:  "I hit him on the head with the doll."

           _________________

Secretary to her boss:  "If you were my husband, I would poison your coffee."

Boss: "And if you were my wife, I would make sure you drank it."

The purpose of life is to find mental peace, enjoyment.

One way to find enjoyment is to look for it in every situation.

I had a heavy fall, and hurt myself badly. I am in great pain.

Where is my enjoyment in that?

I cannot see any reason to rejoice in that fall I had.

But what I have done is to accept unreservedly this present moment, including my present injured self, in pain, as it is.

I am not looking to judge the moment as being good or bad.

Just accepting this moment as it is.

        My acceptance is not defeatism.

My acceptance allows me to find peace and mental quiet in the moment. Ut frees my body to take all the steps needed to heal itself.

My acceptance frees me from annoyance, frustrations, looking for people to blame.

My acceptance allows me to move forward, to things I want to do.

Wishing you joy and abundance,   Shree-1.

I wake up to enjoy the day

Hello! welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?'

  A few jokes:

It was my first day as a trainee at the local smithy's, making metal goods.

My boss asked me to make a hammer.

I struggled through the morning, but made no progress.

Fearing my job was on the chop, at lunch time I bought a hammer from a shop.

I presented that to my boss.

He said, "Very good. Make me 50 more."

    ______________

Mrs Jones to her neighbour:     "Where are you off to Mrs. Smith?"

Mrs. Smith:   "I am taking my husband to the doctor's. I do not like the look of him this morning."

Mrs. Jones:  "Good idea! Can I come with you? I do not much like the sight of my husband either.'

 ____________

Try as hard as I might, I can only remember 25 letters of the alphabet.

I just do not know why.

______________

I wake up to enjoy each day:

My world is in a terrible state. The fightings, the killings, the financial meltdowns, the natural disasters.

Even so, this is my wold, and I love it as it is.

Every morning I wake up meaning to enjoy the day ahead of me.

My outlook is, "my purpose of living is to enjoy the day. as long as my enjoyment does not harm any one else."

With this tenet, I find myself enjoying even the tepid water shower, and the lovely crunchy breakfast cereal.

The wait for the bus is no problem,  neither is the telling off I get from my boss for being late.
I got what I deserved, and will do better tomorrow.

        And so it goes on.

Luckily I do enjoy the day, one way or another,

Wishing you every jiy and abundance.      Shree-1

Make Peace, Not War,

Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

All world one happy family.

Many wise souls have said through the centuries that seeking revenge for an apparent wrong done never results in peace.

The war to end all wars never ended any wars.

However justified a war may appear to be to one party, it never can win over love and compassion.

The pen has always been mightier than the sword.

I would unhesitantly promote unilateral disarmament for any nation.

I regret that the great Indian epics promote wars, where they could have twisted the tales to reflect the results of love and forgiveness.

I copy a fairy story from an earlier blog of mine.

A New Year's Fairy Tale - Make Peace, Not War

Hello! Welcome to How Can I Make It A Better World?

      All World one Happy Family.

A Joke:  A visitor to the USA was being shown the latest computer technology.

The computer expert explained how in the USA even a marriage was done with emails.

The visitor expressed his utter surprise, saying, in his land a marriage was done with a female.

A New Year's Fairy Tale - Make Peace, Not War

In ancient times there lived a king by the name of Rama. One day he went hunting in the forest with his queen which had been given the name Sita when she was but a little infant baby by her parents.

The King got lost in the jungle, and was forced to seek refuge in a deserted hut.

Regrettably, the hut was the hideaway of the gang leader of a local group of bandits.

During the night, as King Rama was fast asleep from his hunting exertions, the bandit leader, names Ravan happened by to deposit his loot, and seeing a beautiful lady asleep in the hut, simply bundled up her and rode away.

King Rama, when he woke up in the morning, was full of remorse at the loss of his wife. He sensed, from the footprints of persons, and horses, that some one had come and abducted his queen.

King Rama was wise. He knew that it was not up to him to judge the actions of others.

His duty was to return to his palace, and continue with his duties of running the state.

He even secretly prayed that no harm would come to the abductor of his queen, because at his heart, he truly believed that even to wish harm of an enemy was essentially to wish harm on himself, because all life was interconnected as one whole.

Whilst the King continued with his stately duties, our bandit leader Ravan found little joy from his capture.

From that very moment of that lady's capture, things began to go wrong with his plans. His loots were recaptured, his hiding place was raided, his gang began in-fighting, and he was left with no time to play around with his prize.

Ravan was overcome with grief at all his evil ways, and in an effort to make some amends, escorted his human bounty back to her home town.

He was too shameful to walk up to the palace of King Rama, just leaving the Queen Sita by the city gates.

King Rama happened to be at that very gate on a state duty, recognised his Queen, welcomed Ravan. pardoned him, and all lived happily ever after.

In this fairy tale there was no need to bring the death and destruction of any war.

Just using the power of love and a pure heart, the fairy tale could be ended with evil turned good, and happiness prevailed.

In this story any resemblance to names in other stories is purely coincidental.

Wishing you every joy and abundance,  Shree-1

My World is a reflection of my feelings

Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.

Over the year of my intense studies on the nature of life that I could conduct because I had time made available to me because I had freed myself from the confines of paid employment, I have logically accepted, like 2 + 2 = 4, that the world we experience is, indeed a reflection of our inner thoughts and feelings.

If I do not like my boss, I have to ask myself as to what aspect of my own self do I not like that the boss is reflecting.

If I change myself to like myself in totality, over time, but a time short enough to notice, the boss's behaviour towards me will also change.

The poor, it has been said, think more often about money, and its lack, than the rich do. I know the feeling very well.

According to the new theory I want to believe in, if I stop thinking of my lack all the time, and live in the abundance that I do have, not necessarily financial abundance, my financial stress will ease.

Wishing you joy and abundance,   Shree-1

The World is getting better

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.

A Joke:    As I walked away with my bag from the carousel at Heathrow airport, I felt someone tapping at my shoulder, "Excuse me sir, that is my bag you are taking away," said the man wanting to arrest my attention.

"Did you not see the big yellow strapping I have put on thais bag?" the man continued accusing me of stealing his bag.

I handed him his bag apologising, "I did vaguely wonder why someone would have put that big yellow band on my bag, but that strapping did not worry me at all."

The world is getting better

I started this blogging, over a year ago, from the assumption that the world was a terrible place needing improvement. My focus was the abject poverty that exists in the cities of India (seen some) and of Brazil, Mexico, etc (read about). My concern was also for the treatment, or rather, the nil treatment, that the diseased and disabled received in these countries.

These days I focus more on the nicer things that already exist in the world. The sunsets, the gardens, the beauty of buildings, and of spontaneous kindness shown by the people who make the world go around, the postmen, and the bus drivers, for instance.

I am happy to notice nice things happening at a world level as well.

When President Obama was elected afro-american rejoiced in the dignity of mankind expressed by all America, that a person is to be judged solely on his abilities, and on nothing other. Many said that they thought they would never live long enough to see such days of human understanding come to mankind.

The recent trip of Her Majesty the Queen to Ireland also shows the world is getting better. Hatred is not being passed on from generation to generation, as a legacy.

Steps are being taken to bring everlasting peace in the middle east.

As far as the poor are concerned, I console myself that the people I regard as being poor may have accepted their way of life, and, in all probability. many of them are more contented than I am. I have seen residents of so called slums of cities in India enjoying their festivals more than I have every enjoyed any single day.

The others may be given strength by their own dire circumstances to win over their grime and poverty.

As far as the disabled are concerned, I am reminded that people may not be clinically healed of their maladies, yet be overcome with a spirit of joyous union with 'God' allowing them a greater degree of happiness than I ever hope to achieve.

I am so happy to see the world getting better.

Wishing you joy and abundance,  Shree-1

A New View of Who I Am - Part II

Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

  All world one happy family.

You are welcome to find some jokes at tinyurl.com/265o47r

I had the rare pleasure yesterday of hearing from two visitors from Australia who liked this blog, and the associated tweets at http://twitter.com/macrogacts

I thank them for heartening me with their generous compliments.

A New View of Who I Am - Part II

In addition to making our youngsters aware of being world citizens, loving all mankind, we also need to encourage them into knowing that they have the ability to fulfil all their desires.

The only condition to every one having all the fun they desire is that their wishes should not hurt or harm any other.

The basis for saying that everyone has access to all the knowledge and power they need to fulfil their desires is that all of the Universe is first a giant Consciousness, and then, as an idea of that Mind, all the galaxies, stars, planets and people.

Each person, obviously is in that Universe, embedded within the Universal Mind, as a drop of water is part of an ocean.

So each person's mind, consciousness, is a portion of the same Universal Consciousness.

One way of looking at this is to know that every one of us is a 'god'.

As a 'god' one will love and care for others, never thinking of hurting or harming any one.

We will teach the youth, tomorrow's world citizens, that  being a 'god' each one will have the following attributes, abilities:

            1.  The world we see around us, the world we live in, is of our own making.

We have an inherent ability to create our own experiences  through the power of our beliefs, thoughts and feelings.

     2. We have a free will.

We can choose our beliefs, and our thoughts, and thus change our reality.

In effect, we can create whatever we desire.

     3. We limit our desires by our perceptions of what is possible to achieve.

Our attempts to fulfil our desires are also limited only by our beliefs in what is possible.

     4. Our life is meant to be enjoyed to the full.

     5. The world we live in is a creation of a Universal Mind.

      6. We are very much a part of the same Universal Mind.

We have, therefore, access to all the power we need to create all we desire.

     7. Our Thoughts, Desires, and Beliefs create what we experience.

     8. There is enough stuff out in the Universe to fulfil the wishes of every person on the planet.

     9. By changing our thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions, we can change the world to our liking.

A New View of Who I Am

Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

  All world one happy family.

A joke:      I and my wife to be set up a partnership business.

We bought a truckload of tomatoes at 40p a pound.

With great enterprise we managed to sell the whole lot, at 40p a pound.

When we counted our takings we found that we had exactly the same amount of money as we started off with.

My clever wife-to-be immediately saw through our error.

"I told you we should buy more of those tomatoes, didn't I?" she reproached me.

A New View of Who I AM.

A documentary I was seeing on television had a professor from China remembering that he, as indeed, all children in China are taught, were taught at kindergarden school that all Chinese were a special breed, and were taught to love and honour their country.

I recalled that as a child in India, I too, was taught along similar lines, that we, Indians, are, indeed, people to be proud of, and to honour and work for our country's interest.

May be the time has come now for the new generation of young ones all over the world, to be taught a newer version of who they are.

The version would teach the youngsters that they are citizens of a global village, that all people, whatever country they happen to be born in, are all equally great, and deserve love and respect for ever.

At Disney World in the United States I have experienced a Texan to be proud of being from Texas, and people from, say Illinois, being proud of their state. But whilst each group proudly maintained their individual identity they bore a common allegiance to the United States as well.

In England a Yorkshireman would be proud of his County, yet be loyal to the Queen in London.

Can the leaders of this world today not device a curriculum for school children the world over which teaches the children to be proud of their motherland, and yet, remain loyal to a World figurehead?

There are other topics that the new generation need to be taught that all together will help to make it a world without wars, a world of peace and joy for all.

Improve in myself what I want to improve in the world.

Hello! Welcome to "How can I make it a better world?"

       All world one happy family.

Gill Edwards. author of "Living Magically" advises people like me who want to make the world a better place, that I need to look into my own self to improve the situation I want to improve in the world.

Thus, if I want peace in the world, I have to concentrate on finding my own inner peace.

The world I encounter will then be a world where love and peace prevails.

If, as I am, horrified by the poverty in the third world city slums, and my desperate feelings of a failure because I am not a Bill Gates who can lift these people out of poverty, according to Gill Edwards, I need to stop feeling poor myself.

My inner being resonates with this advice from Gill Edwards. Indeed, my attention drawn to the desperate poverty of the city slums is indeed a reflection of the poverty I feel deep inside.

From now on I will begin to feel rich, not only in money terms, but also in terms of the wonder and miracles that I meet every moment of the day.

The sunrise, the beating of my heart, a blade of grass, a new born baby, an aeroplane in the sky, a colour computer monitor screen - the list is endless - all are miracles that can make me feel rich.

And of course, I do feel grateful to the Universe for the few pounds I do have in my pocket, because, to tell you the truth, for a good-for-nothing person as I am, it is indeed a miracle that I these few pounds have come my way.

When I feel rich and abundant with love, money, wonder, joy, laughter and happiness, then the world I will see be no longer a world of poverty, toil and trouble.

The least I can do is to give this idea a try.

Wishing you joy and abundance,  Shree-1

A Youthful Message

Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?'

All world one happy family.

In the words of CNN, a world without any borders.

My latest joke is "my retaliation" at 'Jokes'

Also see my latest entry at 'My Tweets'

A YOUTHFUL MESSAGE:

I wish some one had explained to me, when I was in my teens, just starting out at life, that life is in truth, like a dream.

The Truth is that all life is like our own dream.

In a dream our own mind throws out images into space which our own body senses detect, and report back to our own mind as events happening outside the body.

Note that all the event apparently being acted out of our body, in an external world, are really only projections from our own mind.

It is only when in another state of awareness, the waking state, that we come to know of our other experiences as dreams.

Likewise, our waking life experiences are also our own mind's projections into space. Our body senses pick up those projections and report back to the same mind as if the occur in a world residing outside the body.

That is a Truth. A 'macrofact.'

Some persons can control the dreams they see when asleep.

That art, skill, can be learnt.

If we could learn that skill, and the related skill, of creating our own waking life experiences, we would be ale to live the life of our dreams.

This is the basis of us being able to create our own reality.

Armed with this knowledge, I would have learnt the skill of  producing the drama of my life as per my own desires.

The message for the youth of today is, "Learn this skill of controlling your own fate. The materials to learn are around you, if you will just look for them, please. Thanks."

Wishing you all joy and abundance.    Shree-1

It is a wonderful world.

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better world?"

   All world one happy family.

The title of this blog implies that the world needs a lot that needs improving. Worse, this thinking as to how I can make the world better overlooks all the wonderful things that do exist in this world.

May be I should focus on those nice things, and allow those nice things to expand to obliterate the not so nice aspects of our world.

This way I focus on the wonderful world that already is.

Louis Armstrong beautifully expresses all the nice things that already exist in the world.

I would add to that the natural wonders of the world, the sunrise, sunsets, lakes, rivers, mountains and fields.

Then are the wonderful people who make the world go around, the salt of the earth.

The helpful people wherever we seek service, in shops, or on our travels, or the unseen people who grow our food and protect our health and welfare.

The wonderful inventions of science, the computer, television, and the mobile phones are beyond expressions on their degree of miracles behind their existence.

All in all, it is first a wonderful world. Then, some aspects of our lives that may be improved so that our experiences in our lives can be more pleasing.

What about the  poor hungry homeless destitute who abound on the fringes of our cities and villages.

How can I, can we, help them?

May be the only way, because I, or we, will not have enough money to give them all to live a better economic standard of life, we can help them is to give these people an education that allows them to have belief in themselves, to better their lives. And to find joy in the situation they already are in, knowing that their efforts will bring better times for them.

Help with appropriate technology to provide them with work to produce goods and services that others in the same community may purchase from them will be the greatest help we can give them.

I welcome your thoughts on how we can make an already wonderful world, good for all of its citizens.

Wishing you joy and abundance,    Shree-1

90 days from now

Hello, welcome to "How can I Make It A Better World?"

All world one happy family.

90 days from now will you be totally new, rich with joy, happiness, success?

Study

Some amazing stuff here.

Have a serious look. It is your life.

We are 'dreaming' even when awake.

Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?'
 All world one happy family.

Please note that jokes now appear in another web site.

You can read these at http://tinyurl.com/265o47r

We are 'dreaming' even when awake.

When dreaming, my mind projects a world, which my eyes and other senses pick up as events happening outside of me.

When in the dream state the events are as real to me, as the events that happen to me when I am awake.

It is only when I change my consciousness to another dimension that I become aware that my previous experiences were only a dream, all my own mental constructs, experienced as real by my mind when in that dream state.

Mystics have proclaimed, through the centuries past, that our waking state is also, in effect, a dream phenomena of our mind.

Our mind projects images, which our body senses report back to our mind as the world existing outside of us.

Science has no proof that our minds do this. So this knowledge of mind's ability, to create its own world that is our wakeful life, is not as common knowledge as is the fact that the earth spins on its axis, rather than the sun going around the earth, as seen by us.

In that light, it is comforting to read that in his book, "The Promise of Sleep" William C. Dement, author and pioneer in sleep research says "To certain parts of the brain, there is no difference between waking life and dreaming life" [page 299, Delacote Press, New York]

In the ancient Sanskrit language, this phenomena of the mind, projecting images out as in a dream is called "Vikshepa."

The world that is thus projected is called "maya" which may be translated as an "illusion".

The whole process, from vikshepa, to creation of maya, to our becoming aware of the maya in our mind (which projected those imagers) is called "leela."

From my point of view, if I accept that I "dream" my life, I can develop the skill of "dreaming" of the stuff that I want to happen in my life.

I can accept that I am the creator of what I experience. I blame no one for my troubles.

If I accept I am creator of my life, I am free to create the life of my dreams.

I wish you joy and abundance.

Is More Money the answer to all problems?

Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

All world one happy family.

I have always berated myself for not being super rich, with money to spare beyond my own personal needs to assist the poor and the needy of the world.

I just saw the film "West is West"

A boy born and brought up in the UK, when he visits his father's village in Pakistan, where there are no city life-style mod-coms, soon says he is quite happy in the village, and does not want to return to the UK.

Does that mean that people in villages that I think I will help with money, are really happy as they are, in the life they are living, and that my spending money to give them additional comforts is not at all needed?

Then there is nothing I can do to make the world a better place.

The world is nice as it is.

Wishing you joy and abundance,    Shree-1

Better me, Better my world.

To create a better me, I need to:
1. Maintain my health.

To keep me physically fit, I need to: a) Drink a glassful of water every one or two hours..
b) Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.
Better still, miss out on the evening meal once every week..
c) Eat fresh fruit and vegetable, not over cooked.
d) Live with Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
e) Make time to do physical exercises and mental relaxation, like yoga and meditation.
d) Alter my mindset, so that I give my full attention to whatever I am doing.
Work while I work and play while I play.
e) Be thankful for all that I see in Nature, and all that I experience through the day.

2. Keep faith in myself.
To do that,

a) I do not compare my life with the life of others.others. I may have no idea what they feel about their life.
b) Have faith in my own capabilities. Feel that I can do what I wish to do,
c) I need to forgive myself for my past mistakes.
d) Love myself, love others. Hate no one, even when they wrong me. Forgive them too. Send my love to everyone.
e) Recognise that I am the king of my thoughts. Only I give meanings to whatever happens to me. No one is in charge of my feelings.
f) Smile and laugh more.

Wish you joy and abundance,

Guide to Health & Fulfilment of Life

Hello, Welcome to "How Can I make it a better world?"

All world one happy family.

I take the liberty of passing on a guide to health and fulfilment that turned up in my e-mail box.

I do not know who compiled these, but the advice makes sense.

Here is the guide to health and fulfilment in life:

Health:1.       Drink plenty of water.
2.       Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3.       Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured.
4.       Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
5.       Make time to practice meditation, yoga, and prayer.
6.       Play more games.
7.       Read more books than you did in 2008.
8.       Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9.       Sleep for 7 hours.
10.
Take a 10-30 minutes’ walk every day. And while you walk, smile.

Personality:
11.    Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
12.    Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control.. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

13.    Don't overdo. Keep your limits.
14.    Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15.    Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
16.    Dream more while you are awake.
17.    Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
18.    Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness..

19.    Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20.    Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21.    No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22.    Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part
of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23.    Smile and laugh more.
24.    You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Society:
25.    Call your family often..
26.    Each day give something good to others.
27.
Forgive everyone for everything.
28.    Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
29.
Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30..
What other people think of you is none of your business.
31.    Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch..

Life:
32.    Do the right thing!
33.    Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful..
34.    GOD heals everything.
35.    However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
36.    No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37.    The best is yet to come.
38.    When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39.    Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.
Last but not the least:
40.    Please Forward this to everyone you care about.

Wishing you joy and abundance,     Shree-1

Day Dreams

Hello! Welcome toHow Can I Make It A Better World?'

All world one happy family.

Remembering that life's coin has 'JOY' stamped on both its side, I have compiled some jokes.

You will find them at http://tinyurl.com/265o47r

This afternoon I am dreaming of the 'better' world I want to live in.

I know it will never be.

But that is not to stop me dreaming of the better world our world can be.

Six things I want to happen in the world.

1. The world as one single United Nations.

A confederation of nations, where each nation maintains its independent culture and laws. Yet each nation owes its allegiance to one world  figurehead, which may be a Council of Members.

I am thinking of the European Economic Community as I write this. Or the United States of America, or the United Arab Emirates, or the Indian State. All these are unions of various peoples each maintaing their individual identities, yet conforming to the well being of the whole group.

This idea needs to be extended to make the globe one unit.

2. No one feels defeated by life.

Every one should have the assurance that in times of difficulties, there will be a system to cater for life's essential needs of food, clothing, shelter and health care.

Much of strife and robbery and looting in the world is because if one does not fend for one's own self, then in  times of need, no one else will. So grab as much as you can while you can, by means fair or fowl.

3. Everyone is educated to knowing and living to their purpose in life.
By their upbringing everyone will feel pride in maintaing their own self's economic independence by contributing to the welfare of the society and the world as a whole.

4. An education of culture for all which leads every one to a feeling of love, compassion, kindness for all other living persons and life, too. All will learn to forgive others should one feel that another has wronged him.

5. There will be no family conflicts. No national conflicts.
     There will be no armies.
There will be no weapons of mass destruction.

6. There will be one religion for the whole world.

Every one will believe in the teachings of this religion.

These teachings would be given to every child any where on the eaeth, so all people will share common fundamental beliefs about the nature of life, and of each person's inherent powers by virtue of being a God himself.
A fundamental tennet of this World Religion of peace and compassion will be that there is not One  God in all Universe.

There are an infinite number of Gods.

Each individual, from a babe to an elderly person on the death bed is a God.

Thus every one will feel the Divinity in his/her own self, and see the others as equally Divine, a God.

We will abolishing the idea of One God high up above bestowing abundance or disasters.

Natural disasters will be accepted as a natural cycle of events, as is movement of stars, sun, planets and the sea waters.
By being a God our own selves will know ourselves to be responsible for our lives.

Our education would have taught us that our so called accidents or misfortunes or infirmities will be of our own design and choice before having taken birth on this earthly dimension. We would also know that at any moment by our thoughts and actions we can alter the course of choices made in a dimension before our birth. We would have been taught to not bemoan a tragedy, to accept it and go on with the joys of living with the tragedy not withstanding.

We would know that with our beliefs and thoughts we can mould our lives to our liking.

With love compassion, one-ness all over the world, every one will be happy. The World will be Happy.

The world will be a better place.

Any comments? The box below is empty for you to fill in.

Wishing you joy and abundance.        Shree-1

Peace is in my Mind

Hello! Welcome to 'How CanI Make It A Better World?"

     All world one happy family.

The theme of this blog is that we want our world to be eradicated of strife and conflict.

We want our world where peace reigns.

But .......is peace of mind not an internal matter in my mind?

My peace of mind, a relaxed contended state wherein there is no strain, worry, anxiety, impatience, is not outside in a thing or an event.

My peace of mind is in my mind.

Whenever a situation causes me distress, I need to take a breather, and to recognise the the distress is of my own making.

Can I convert that stressful feeling to one of peace?

Having felt peace in my mind, instead of the stress, I am then free to tackle that situation in the most appropriate way.

Can I act from a position of keeping my head when others have lost theirs?

When we all lean to convert all events to peace in our minds, we shall have a world where peace reigns.

Wishing you joy and abundance.

Change Myself to change the World

A Happy Village nestled amongst mountains & a lake

Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"

All world one happy family.

I can do no better than quote Mahatma Gandhi, " We must be the change we want to see in the world."

If I want a world full of love and joy, I must first be full of love and joy.

To love myself, I must learn to respect my body, not to abuse it with wrong food, wrong amounts of food, food taken when not hungry, not adding harmful substances into my body, by doing adequate exercises, by breathing properly, by staying cool and calm under all circumstances, etc. etc.

Next time I feel the urge to have another piece of cake, because the taste in my mouth is so good, I need ask myself, "Do I love myself enough to resist that impulse which I know will only give me additional momentary pleasure, but harm my body in the long run?

If I love myself enough, I will be able to generate the self discipline to overcome that impulse to eat an extra slice of the cake.

The same approach can instil discipline in all my actions. Whether I get annoyed at the train's delay, or shout back at a person because they have offended me, depends on how much self-love I show to myself.

I have to be joyful myself, to see the happier slant of situations that come my way.

My added bonus for my self-disciplined life-style will be that I will be contributing to making the world a little better.

Wishing you joy and abundance,   Shree-1
