Hello, and welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.
I do want to make this world a better place to live in.
I wish I could do something to ease the hardships, the struggle, the pain, the misery, for all people who suffer and strive through life.
My only hope is that I reach out to as many people as possible with the teachings of the enlightened masters of ancient and modern times. Teachings which show that a person can create his world of happiness and joy.
The trick shown by these wise sages is ridiculously simple in its essence.
We can change our world by changing our thoughts about the world we want.
The basis for this approach is that a person creates the world he experiences.
This is not my saying.
It says so in the ancient Veda scriptures of India. The origins of these writings has been lost to antiquity.
A rough translation of the essence of some four voluminous Veda teachings is, "All phenomena are projections of the mind."
Christ says,"Ask and you shall be given. Knock and the door will open." There are no conditions attached.
An Indian sage of modern times, died 1949, who had for himself seen and experienced the nature of our world, declared repeatedly that the person who sees and the objects he sees are one and the same.
Scientists and Mathematicians with their quantum mechanics studies are saying the same thing. Our consciousness is responsible in locating the position of a quark. Sir Fred Hoyle has written a book called "The Intelligent Universe".
People who have survived near death experiences, record something very similar. Denise Linn says, "I floated out of my body and entered into a realm of golden radiant light. I was surrounded by a loving force that appeared to be infusing the entire universe with vitality and energy. I remembered knowing that I was connected to all people and all life, animate and inanimate."
Modern self development gurus,Napolean Hill, Anthony Robbins, Pamala Oslie, Gill Edwards, Louise Hay, to name just a few, all say the same unbelievable story.
These people do show ways by which one can utilise the inherent abilities in us to make our life a joyful experience.
Unfortunately all people of my generation are not taught of these principles at school.
I hope the newer generations will be taught these, what I term "MegaFacts," because they are Universal, independent of race or creed, and be shown how they may apply the principles to devlop to their full potential for health and wealth and happiness.
The world will be a better place then.
Your assistance in broadcasting this knowledge will be a great help.
Wishing you all the best, Shree-1

What is a Miracle?
Hello! Welcome to "HowCan I Make It A Better World?
All World One Happy Family.
My father used to say that even a blade of grass is a miracle.
The nebulous energy from the sun has been transferred into something real, some concrete stuff.
It was not there before, and is there now.
I have a scientific mind enough to know of all the explanations science gives, from photosynthesis to energy in sun's rays, to constituents in a soil.
But that gives names to the processes involved. Does it explain how and why a blade of grass has emerged from the soil?
It is accepted logic that giving the reason that an apple tree falls to the ground is due to the effect of gravity, is not to have explained why the apple falls to the ground, but merely giving the process of falling to the ground a name.
Similarly, science has given names to the processes which cause a blade of grass to emerge out of the ground, but the blade of grass remains a miracle all the same.
Energy has been mysteriously converted into a living piece of matter.
A miracle, indeed.
How much of a greater miracle, then is a new born baby?
An absolute miracle!
What about all of us - all life?
We are all a magical miracle, Our life therefore, should be a miraculously joyous life, all life long.
Wishing you all the best, Shree-1

We live by our beliefs
Hello, and welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?
Our aim, All World One Happy Family.
A joke: A lawyer went to a dentist to have his troublesome tooth extracted.
He cautioned the dentist with a threat of criminal proceedings, "Take out the tooth, the whole tooth, and nothing but the tooth."
It is a pleasure to welcome my new reader from South Africa. I know that he practices, with great success, the systems I have shown in these writings. I sincerely wish he would add his experiences to this site to allow us to make the world a better place for all of us.
We live by our beliefs:
I am amazed to discover how much of our daily behaviours are governed by our beliefs. From the way we treat our elders, each other, the authority, to how we feel about ourselves, are all dependent on our belief systems.
As an interesting example is the behaviour of an elderly lady guest living with us at the moment. She has been brought up in a part of the world where every day is a brilliantly sunny one. It is the system there that washed laundry is hung out to dry in the sun. Whist with us, she feels uncomfortable if it is not done so here. I have no facility to easily hang out clothes outside the home. But, according to her belief, she goes to great lengths, at some considerable trouble to herself, to dry her laundry outdoors.
My beliefs now are: 1. Our world we live in is an idea of a Universal Mind.
2. We are a part of the same Universal Mind.
3. We have access to the same ability to create as has the Universal Mind.
4. We have the freedom to create what we want.
5. Our desire to create is only limited by our belief in our ability to do so.
6. There is enough stuff out in the Universe to fulfil the wishes of every person on the planet.
7. There are many ways of using this Universal Mind to assist us. One such way is shown in my
March 2010 blogs, and from then on.
Regrettably I am too new a recruit to this doctrine that I believe in now to be able to show you any great advantages to me of this new found belief.
But my conviction in the truth of these beliefs is so much that I want you to adopt them in your life.
A joke again: A college girl tell her friend that she is to break off her engagement with a boy. "I do not like him an more," She says."
"Doe that mean," her friend asks, "that you will return your diamond engagement ring he gave you?"
"No! I do not like the boy any more. I still like the ring."
Wishing you every happiness, Shree-1

Improve Your Relationships by improving yourself
Hello! Welcome to "How Can I make It A better World?
All World One Happy Family
Regrettably the whole world is not one happy family.
Worse, very often one's own relations outside and inside one's family are not a very happy affair either.
When that is so, one's world needs being made better.
One method advocated by those who are professionals in that field relies on the assumption that all of one's relations are a reflection of one's own feelings that one has for one's own self.
That is hard to understand, and even harder to accept as truth.
Be as it may, it may be worth a try, because there is nothing to be lost if, on trying out the method, there is no improvement in the relations. The trial will not make the relations any worse.
To Improve your Relations:
Please write down on a sheet of paper the questions:-
1. What is in the other person's behaviour which irritates, angers, hurts, annoys, insults is unsavoury to me, etc.?
2. What, as I think it, is the reason why that person is behaving in that way towards me?
3. If the other person was gentle enough to listen to me, what will I tell that person? What is wrong with him/her?
This is serious stuff - we want to make our world a better place to be in.
Please write as detailed an answer to these questions as you can possibly make it.
Having done it, the magic part has to be done.
Regard each answer given to the questions as if the answers are being told to your own self.
Thus, as an example, if you have said that you do not like your Boss always being angry at you, consider the answer to question 1 from the view point, "I am always angry with myself." And whatever you were thinking about in answer to question 2 is why you are angry with yourself. What ever you were to tell the boss in answer to question 3, is what you need to tell to yourself as to what you should do to stop being angry at yourself.
I regret having to say that I have tried this for my own relations. I find the results give enough merit to this method that I am spending time reporting it here.
Wishing you all the best, Shree-1

The Key to Health, Wealth & Success
Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All World One Happy Family.
A Joke: A man reported to his local police station that a thief just drove away his parked car.
"Can you describe the thief?" asked the sargeant at the Police station.
"No," says the man, "But I jotted down the car number as he drove away."
THE KEY TO HEALTH, WEALTH AND HAPPINESS;
In a book about the life of Shri Raman Maharshi that I have, it states that a wealthy and influential visitor to his ashram asked Shri Raman Maharshi as to how he may improve the world, so full of sorrow and grief. Shri Raman Maharshi advised the man to first improve his own lot, to remove all sorrow and grief from his own life, and the world will reflect the improvement he feels in himself.
(Shri Raman Maharshi was not promoting an "I am all right Jack" attitude. His biography I am reading clearly shows the degree of compassion he had for all living things, and regard for all nature.)
It is in that spirit that I spend time at my self development, and hope that you, too, would want to avoid the mistakes I made in life. If you are young, and just starting out in your career, you will have a happy successful life, where you can develop your potential to the full.
It is now clear to me that one's sense of one's being is the ultimate cause of one's situation in life.
The concept is easy to grasp by considering the case of an overweight person who wants to slim. If that person has in his mind that he is fat, and ugly, he will need all his will power to restrain himself from eating his chocolates and cakes. He will want to be fitter, but the basic idea remains that he is overweight. By sheer force of his will, he may reduce his calorie intake, and reduce his weight, but all the while it would be a tough assignment, like driving a car forward with the brakes on.
And should he drop guard, he will return back to his overweight self.
This is the story for most people wanting to slim.
But if instead, the person changes his mind image, that he is slim, fit, then restraining from the food he loves would be no problem - the food would not as attractive to him anymore.
Notice that the change in the mind of the image is even when the body is overweight. This chage is the one that is difficult, but not as hard as willpower needed with the earlier situation.
I now feel that I had faced similar problems all my life. I was brought up in a family where being frugal is a virtue.
All my society praised economy in living, saving wastage - "A penny saved is a penny earned" - "Money does not grow on trees" - "Time is Money" - meaning one must work to earn money to survive - Being smart is making a bargain deal with any purchases etc.
At the root of all these homilies about proper living is the feeling that we are poor. I may make a lot of effort to earn money, but at the root of it all I remain with "I am poor" mentality. Being aware of it, as I am now, I sensed this poor mentality in many people on my recent travels in India. The beggar, the young man pleading to shine my shoes, the lady haggling with the vegetable vendor, the man rummaging through second hand clothes to pick a bargain, all, it seemed to me, were victims of the " I am poor" mentality that I was trying to shake off.
I wish I had been taught to change my mentality to "I am rich." when beginning my secondary school. Then I would still have practiced economy, frugal life style, save wastage, etc. but knowing that I chose to do so, rather than because I was poor.
I am not advocating that you spend beyond your means. The only change is that you do not grudge the daily expenditure of living. You willingly spend on what has to be spent with joy, knowing that more money is to flow to you to refill your coffers.
The same concept may be used for improving one's health. It may be used for any undertaking one begins in life.
This is the message given to me in all the studies on self-improvement I have done after my retirement, at some cost to me, but free of charge to you, because I am rich enough to afford to give it away.
All we can do is try to adopt this message. There is nothing to be lost, and much to be gained.
That, the image one has in his mind of one's own being, is the key to Health, Wealth and Success. We now need do no more than turn it into the lock.
Wishing you all the best, Shree-1

Find Joy in what you do
Hello Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World.
All world one Happy family.
A Joke: A man turned up at his local cinema to watch the film "Titanic".
He was taken aback at the sight of the long queue, but decided to wait anyway.
After having doggedly waited for over an hour, he found himself at the ticket office, only to be told by the clerk,
"Step aside, Sir, Women and children first."
It is a pleasure to welcome you if you have stumbled onto this blog.
I would wish you to scroll right down to the beginning of this blog by repeatedly clicking to "older posts". Or, in any case begin with the entry datead Saturday,06.03.2010.
In March this year I myself applied the system I mention of. To date some of my wishes have come true. Others have yet to be realised. But I have not lost my faith in the truth and strength of the system. My further studies since March this year
has convinced me that I should carry on using the methods of changing one's situation in life written up then.
I urge you to carry on with the system as well.
FIND JOY IN WHAT YOU DO
One method of getting rid of procrastination is to find joy in whatever you are putting off doing.
To find joy in that activity, all that needs to be done is to change your perception of that work.
Then get down to doing it. That is all there is to it. Do try it out.
Wishing you all the best, Shree-1

Love, Compassion, Understanding, Service.
Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A better World"
All world one happy family.
Over the week end I had a call from someone distributing the free magazine, "WatchTower."
He began by asking me what religion I was.
I could not truthfully answer that question.
If by religion he meant if I followed any set of rituals that all the world's religions impose on their followers, from swaying to and fro as you read a book before a wall, to doubling down forward on the floor facing a particular direction, I do not belong to any.
I have now grown to realise that such superficial procedures wholly imagined up by some men can never be the message of a Creator of the universe.
If, by following a religion, however, is meant the philosophy behind the religion, the guidance to man of his relationship with all nature and other people, and with God, then I am a follower of any religion you care to name.
Because, as I understand it, all religions show all life to be a manifestation of one universal spirit.
According to the basic philosophy of all religions, the way to make it a better world is to show towards your fellow living things Love, Compassion, Understanding and be of service to them.
That line of reasoning does raise the question, what is the duty of the one at the receiving end of love, compassion, Understanding and service?
As often before, I seek guidance from you over that puzzle.
Wishing you all the best, Shree-1

You will never get away from yourself
Hello, Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better world?
All World one happy family.
A Joke: A Roman Ship galley slave had been punished to ten lashes.
As the galley scout began the lashings, the slave started laughing.
The galley Captain asked the slave why he was laughing away as he was being lashed.
Hardly containing his laughter, the slave replied, "I did not do it. You are punishing the wrong man."
You Will Never Get Away from Yourself.
An author by the name of Jo Coudert wrote a book, many pages of it, some 250 or so, titled,"Advice From A Failure"
Her justification for writing the book was that the reader may be prevented from leading a life of failings like she had done.
I echo her sentiments as I write this blog.
One idea that impressed me from her book was; " The single relationship that is truly central and crucial in a life is the relationship to the self. Of all the people you will know in a lifetime, you are the only one you will never leave."
It says what I had mentioned of right at the start of my blogging, in Oct.09. (Please scroll down to then).
To be able to make it a better world, you must begin by loving yourself. Loving yourself is not meant to be in an arrogant or, narcissistic way. But as a genuine person who respect ones own self as being one worthy of respect.
With that self-esteem is tied idea of one's purpose of life. That of. course, is to seek happiness and fulfilment. But wherein are happiness and fulfilment? That has to be decided by yourself.
Wishing you all the best, Shree-1

Darwin - Survival of the fittest?
Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All World One Happy family.
A joke I heard decades ago on David Frost TV show: "Do you want to easily get rid of 14 pounds of ugly fat?
Chop your head off!"
Another joke: A bank clerk returned to open his counter after lunch, and found a chicken and an egg waiting at the counter.
"Who is first?" he asked.
No wonder the clerk found himself with a free afternoon.
DARWIN - SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST?
I first read about Darwin's survival of the fittest in my early school days, maybe sixty years ago. Ever since then I had occasionally wondered as to how babies ever were allowed to grow to be mature adults. We have a baby in the house now. I can see clearly that the baby is no where near fit enough to survive without the mother and all around him.
May be Darwin meant survival of those most fittest tp survive. Those animals which could most adapt to changing environment not the fittest, nor the fiercest. In fact many animals, that were very fierce, very fit to survive, have perished.
I do not remember anyone ever discussing this aspect of Darwin's theory. But I do know that it took me some sixty years to express a thought I had vaguely wanted to put to paper ever since it first occured to me.
I sincerely hope that you, reading this, never procrastinate to this extent. I wish you to do what you want to do, now, not at some time tomorrow.
You will have a more satisfied and contented life than I have had.
Wishing you every happiness, Shree-1

Is acting being wealthy secret of being wealthy?
Hello! Welcome to "How Can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family
A joke: A man is drowning his sorrow in a pub because his wife ran away with his best friend. His neighbour consoled him, "It is not that bad, Sid." he said. "After all she has only run away away with your dog.
"That is what I meant," said the unhappy man.
Is Acting being Wealty the secret of being wealthy?
I recently had the good luck to spend a few days with some one who, for all the way he spent money, was living the way the other half lives.
He would think nothing of flying long hauls first class. He would spend lavishly on food, and as I saw it, waste money needlessly. I saw him have wads of money in his hands, and deal notes out to his less fortunate relations, as one deals out from a pack of cards. In that action there was no pride in him, no condescending attitude, but just a feeling of gratitude to God that he was able to do so.
With my recently found way of looking at things, I am left wondering if this person could act the way he could because he was wealthy, or was he wealthy because that is the way he was acting?
Whilst these thoughts were whirling in my mind, I received this email, which I cut and paste:
"I know so many people who work very hard and diligently and sacrifice greatly in an effort to create wealth. But they haven't changed who they are, and until they begin to think and act like wealthy people they'll never attract the wealth they seek. Wealthy people don't think and act the way they do because they have wealth. They have wealth because they think and act that way.
How many people are on a diet today who don't stand a chance of losing (and keeping off) any weight because they're still the same person who gained all that weight to start with. Let me repeat again, so you'll grasp how important this is: Slim
people don't think and act the way they do because they're slim. They're slim because they think and act that way.
To get what you want, you change who you are, and you change who you are by simply changing the way you think and act. And one technique for doing that which is promoted by a lot of wise teachers is to "act as if." If you "act as if" you're slim long enough, then one day you will attract slimness even though you may be 100 pounds overweight today. If you act as if you're wealthy long enough, then one day you will attract all the wealth you can imagine even though you may this moment be destitute and homeless."
I take this to mean that I do not spend beyond my means, but as I am spending, develop the feeling that I give this money graciously, with a lot more to come my way.
Wishing you all the best, Shree-1

Stop Feeling Sorry For Yourself
Hello! Welcome to "how Can I Make It A Better World?
All world one happy family.
A Joke: A mother goes to fetch her young boy at the end of his first day at the kinder garden school.
'How did it go?" She lovingly asks her little son.
"It was fine, Mum," says the little boy, "except that I got lost at lunch time, and nearly missed my lunch."
The Mum says, "I will tell your teacher to look after you properly tomorrow."
The boy is astonished. "Do you mean to say I have to go back to school tomorrow?"
STOP FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF:
One simple way I can make it a better world, a world where life is not a torture to be bourn out till its end, is to stop feeling sorry for myself.
I must accept the mistakes I made, but stop wallowing in them. Stop feeling sorry for myself.
Where I have been hurt by others, I can go on feeling sorry for the hurt caused, or get over the sorrow, forget about the bitterness caused by others to me, and tackle my today, and tomorrow my way,
That way I will make it a more happier and a better world for me.
I wish you all the best, Shree-1

Fool Yourself into beleiving you have what you want
Hello, Welcome to "How can I Make It A Better World?"
All world one happy family.
A Joke: A young man set himself up in business. He purchased a stall in a fish market, and put up a big sign, "Fresh Fish For sale Here."
Of, course, he had to pay a rental on signage based on the number of words.
His grandpa, having lived a hard frugal life all his life, advised his grandson, "Why waste money on writing "For Sale Here?"
So the sign now read "Fresh Fish"
Along comes the young man's dad. He,too has inherited the "money is hard to come by' attitude from his dad. He says, "Son, What is the point of spending for "fresh?" You are only going to sell it if fresh and not otherwise."
The sign now reads "Fish"
The wife has a nice piece of suggestion for his husband. "How come you waste money while I struggle and strive to make ends meet all day long? You don't to tell any one you sell fish here - you can smell it from a mile away.
So, the sign "Fish" went away, and now the young man too, is going to work the mines like his grand dad and dad did all their lives.
Fool Yourself into believing you have what you want.
All the inspirational gurus, say that you have to put in your efforts to reach to your goals, and at the same time, to behave as if you have reached it.
That is the trickiest part of the game.
You have to fool yourself. Seems an impossible job.
But is it that impossible? When we go the the cinema, do we not imagine the sorrow of the hero on the screen so real as if it is ours, to the extent that our eyes shed tears.
If we can do that, easily, it must be easy to walk tall, to have the aura of a king, even though all you have done is taking the steps towards being a king.
Wishing you every happiness, Shree-1
