A Joke; The new secretary was seen measuring up her computer screen. She wanted curtains for her windows.


FEELING JOYFUL, LUCKY, MAKES JOY, GOOD LUCK.


An ancient tale tells of a merchant arriving at a village, wanting to trade in that village asks the headman for a sort of credit report for the village.

"How good are the villagers." he wants to know. "Are they thieving unscrupulous lot, or gentle honest to good folks?"

The Head of the village asks the trader how good were the people at his last village.

"They were terrible," replies the trader. "They were always suspicious of my goods, and never paid me on time."

"In that case," the Headman informs the trader, "You will find people here much the same, and I suggest you do not set up shop here."


I read this story when I was a child just learning to read.

But only now, in my retirement years can I understand the wisdom of that story.

I will create my world which mirrors my beliefs and feelings.

My beliefs, from religious tales of virtue in surviving in spite of hard life and ill luck has given me just that sort of opportunities to show my mantle through a series of difficult times.

I wish I had been taught how to be joyful, happy in all conditions. I think I would then have met situations that would have given me joy and happiness.

I can look back at several of my contemporaries who have led highly successful lives, in terms of wealth and social acclaim, and, I imagined, be very happy and joyful for that reason.

Could it be, I wonder now, that these people always had a happy face, and that outlook of life meant that they ended up with the success I saw them achieve?

It, indeed, can be true that feelings of joy, and being lucky creates for us situations that are joyful and lucky.

Feelings are a collection of thoughts, and these are of my own making.

It follows that by creating my feelings of joy, and health and abundance I will live in a world of joy, and health and abundance.
