All world one Happy Family.
I can expand on the reasonings of my last blog.
Behind the screen in the mind is the 'I" the,'Me,' the person I am.
It is I, me, myself, which is projecting the images on the mind's screen, which are then sent out to the environment. I experience this through my senses.
How can I possibly believe that i am projecting pictures into my mind, which appears as the world I experience?
Incidentally, this theory that all world is a mental image is 'mentalism,' as against the view that the world exists outside of us. 'materialism.'
The first part is easy.
Everything I experience is through my senses as images in my mind.
A corpse with full sense organs intact will be dead to all the world, because his mind is not there to perceive the impulses from the senses.
So the world I see and experience is as an image in my mind.
How Can I logically go from this to saying that the world is a projection of my own mind?
Perhaps one clue is when my mind adds its own thoughts, feelings to what is received by the senses. We call this an illusion, as when a thirsty traveller lost in a desert sees an oasis ahead of him. Or when I break into a sweat of fright when I see a snake, when in fact it was only a rope on the path.
Such examples of illusions, therefore, suggests that at times our mind does project our world outside, which is seen by our senses.
Can it be that what is revealed only momentarily in an illusion be what is happening all the time, but we are not made aware of it?
Science says white light is a mixture of many colours, always. But we are made aware of it only occassionally when a rainbow appears in the sky.
Can it be likewise, that our mind always projects the world we experience, but only occassionally we glimpse of that happening in an illusion we experience?
My limited cleverness cannot come up with a logical explanation that this indeed may be so.
My only clue that this may be so is from the sages of the past who have actually experienced it to be so. One such sage is Raman Maharshi who preaches that what we see and what we are is one and the same.
Final thought, about mentalism. The world that is seen by all, that is the trees and the mountains, are the thoughts, images of a Universal Mind. Since our mind is also a part of the same Universal Mind, the images I project includes the same trees and mountains that all others also project.
