Happiness is a byproduct of another activity

HAPPINESS IS A BY PRODUCT OF ANOTHER ACTIVITY

People always try to find happiness, as if that is an object to find, or an emotion that is the end result of a journey.

I read recently that happiness is no such thing.

It is merely a by product of another activity, carried out with great interest or concentration.

Then, when looking back on that activity, one can say, "that was happiness."

That is why, people always talk of "difficult times in those days, but we were happy."

At the same time, happiness is an emotion, an idea generated in the mind.

In that case one does not find happiness. One just can be happy.

So the saying, if you want to be happy, be.
